Position: Seamer Mechanic

Salary: $35-$45/HR
Our client, are growing Food Manufacturer, is seeking a seamer/maintenance mechanic for their plant. This is an excellent opportunity that provides long term viability and career growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and Repair: Efficiently troubleshoot and perform routine adjustments and repairs on industrial equipment and machinery to maintain production and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor and Validate Repairs: Ensure repairs are effective and problems are fully resolved, focusing on getting it right the first time.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct assigned preventative and predictive maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating filling and seaming equipment.
- Equipment Changeovers: Perform and validate equipment changeovers, including pin height and tooling adjustments.
- Rebuild Equipment: Dismantle, evaluate, and rebuild fillers and seamers, ensuring high-quality workmanship and accountability.
- Planning Assistance: Identify necessary parts and work required to assist in the planning process.
- Prioritize Tasks: Prioritize work based on business needs and maintain urgency in response to assigned tasks.
- Breakdown Elimination: Participate in processes to reduce breakdown frequency and improve equipment reliability.
- Fabrication and Repair: Use machine shop tools (drill press, band saw, grinder, welding/brazing equipment) to repair and fabricate industrial parts.
- Rigging and Lifting: Perform proper rigging and lifting of equipment using hoists, cranes, and other rigging tools.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance activities, and repairs.
- Documentation: Document all seam adjustments in maintenance logs to meet company quality standards.
- Team Communication: Use logs to document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to maintain continuity among work teams.
- Manual Utilization: Use manuals for preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Overtime Work: Work overtime as needed to meet production and maintenance schedules.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as required by the Team Leader or Maintenance Manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience with double seaming operations, with the ability to adjust and diagnose seaming operations (Angelus Legacy Series Can Seamer – Model 60L preferred).
- Seaming Specifications: Ability to adjust and diagnose seaming operations to meet specifications.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.
